Audit & Assurance
Audits that find what others miss.
We don’t tick boxes. We find the leak, the gap and the risk before your lender, your board or the department does.
The work
Internal audit
Continuous, risk-based review of operations, controls and compliance, reported to the board or audit committee.
Stock and inventory audit
Physical verification, valuation and reconciliation for manufacturers, traders and lenders.
Controls and process audit
Whether the controls exist, whether they work, and what happens when they do not.
Management audit
An outside view of how decisions are made and how well the organisation follows them.
Systems audit
Assurance over the information systems the financial statements depend on.
Forensic review
Investigation of suspected irregularity, fraud or misstatement, with findings that stand up.
Concurrent and special audits
Engagements defined by the client's question rather than a standard scope.
Agreed-upon procedures
Specific verification, for a specific purpose, reported factually.
When clients call us
A lender or investor has asked for independent verification.
The owner suspects something is wrong but cannot say what.
The business has grown faster than its controls.
A board or audit committee wants an outside view it can rely on.
Stock records and the warehouse no longer agree.
How we approach it
We start with what keeps you up at night and build the audit around it. Experienced people do the fieldwork. A partner reviews every finding. You get a report your team can act on the next morning.
How an engagement runs
01
Scope
We start with the question you need answered and agree scope, timeline and fee in writing.
02
Fieldwork
Experienced staff, on site or remotely, with document requests agreed in advance.
03
Review
A partner reviews every finding before it reaches you.
04
Report
A written report for the people who have to act, discussed with you before it is final.
Questions we are asked
How long does an internal audit take?
Most one-off reviews wrap up in weeks. Ongoing internal audits run on a quarterly or half-yearly cycle.
Will our team be disrupted?
We agree document requests and visits in advance and keep to the schedule. Much of the work happens without your staff present.
Who sees the report?
Whoever the engagement letter names. Findings are confidential to you.
Can you work alongside our statutory auditor?
Yes. Internal and special audits are often designed to complement the statutory audit, and we coordinate where you want us to.
